The Community Thanksgiving Dinner was started in 2013 by Michelle Peaslee with the cooperation of the Social Concerns Committee and the Strum Food Pantry. It is held on Thanksgiving Day in the Fellowship Hall of Immanuel. Everyone is welcome to attend at no cost to the individuals or families. Free will donations are accepted, but not required. Carry-outs are also available. This year's menu consists of: Herb-roasted Turkey, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Apple-Sausage Dressing, Escalloped Corn with Bacon, Green Bean Casserole, Fresh Cranberry Sauce, Homemade Dinner Rolls with Butter, Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie, and other assorted desserts. Food service begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. Come and enjoy a wonderful meal while our volunteers worry about all the food prep and clean up.
This year the funding for the dinner is being provided by an Action Team grant through Thrivent Financial, The Village Cafe, and numerous private food and monetary donations. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to gather together and serve the members of our wonderful community.
